@QuantumEnterprises BTW, I'll be including instructions on how the rover deploy sequence works... It can be deployed in at least three ways... downward (or "Drop") like in the pics, upwards (or "Jump") using four solid rockets (they're hidden) and... i think another way, but I don't recall... I'm only using the "drop" and "jump" methods for this project.
I configured the rover in such a way it can easily be used in other crafts. I do plan to post separately just the rover with all deploy systems attached so anyone can easily add it to their own crafts.
The rover isn't mine, but I've never tweaked a craft as much as I did that rover. Every single one of the rover's 199 parts and deploy system I set "part collisions" to "never" and "collision response" to "none". The rover can be dropped from 10000m and hit the ground without damage. well, 90% of the time. occasionally part of the suspension will break, but not often.
but being dropped with a deploy system has been a much better and fun way to get the rover to the ground, especially since it's in sync with the ten Drudes.

thanks for the suggestion! I figured that out a few versions ago... if you look at the last pic you can see a couple in free fall.. set it to explode to 0 at 15agl, but i specifically left just the chute to remain open even after it's detached to assist in locating the line of drudes. i've adjusted the drop sequence snd timing so the rover lands in the same line as the drudes. four drudes in front, rover, then six behind. The rover has a somewhat complex (but very cool-loooking) multi-stage deploy sequence that puts it on the surface long before the drudes land, so timing ended up being tweaked a bunch in order for everything lands in a group. :)
Will post soon... the weather here is about to go to hell with this hurricane coming so i'll have the time to finish it up more. My generator might be having to provide the necessary 1.21Gigwatts to get it posted tho.... 🤪

@Spenzerointernational cool! Glad you like. I have a literal hanger full of crafts (planes, rockets, and a couple ground vehicles) awaiting their new livery. I’m also updating crafts already in the fleet. One of the new fonts in the latest update is a much better match to the real “U-haul” lettering. And being the perfectionist that i am, I gotta update them or it’s gonna drive me (more) InSaNe than I already be! 🤪
I am truly impressed you’re making these planes on iOS... mind if I ask what iDevi you’re using? I use both my iPad Pro 9.7” (1st Gen) and a mid-2010 iMac for creation, mods, and vizzy. I was also using my 2013 15” retina MacBook Pro for testing and to use for the best quality photos and videos since it’s the one computer I own that has a dedicated GPU that lets me run SR2 in high quality mode. But it melted down on me a few days ago. Almost literally. It got WAY too hot (burned my finger, like left a mark on my finger) and when I yanked power it turned off itself immediately even tho the battery was “supposed” to be fully charged. After it cooled down I opened it up, cleaned out 7 years of dust, dog dirt, and dog hair that was clogging up the fans, air exhaust, and other spots. But I could clearly see the part that’s causing this (known) problem with the MagSafe-to-DC board. Already ordered the part from ifixit and hope to have it operational again in the next week. I also have to buy a new, unscorched power adapter too, and I’m not thrilled about that cuz they ain’t cheap. But the battery seems intact and no signs of overheating and it wasn’t puffed up. It could use a fresh battery but I’m not ready to tackle that job. Any iFitit kit that includes solvent to loosen the adhesive between the battery and case is gonna be rather involved.
Sorry for the novel... back to steam cleaning the seats in my bug eye... 😎

I had something similar happen twice. The first time I deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled it, I lost everything. When it happened again, I chose a different tactic: I plugged it into my Mac and browsed to the SR2 folder. Inside I renamed the "applicationstate.xml" file but didn't create a new one. I was going under the assumption SR2 would create a new, fresh applicationstate.xml file... which it did. I launched SR2, it booted up correctly and I hadn't lost a thing. The only reason I tried this method is because I performed the same procedure on my Mac when something went wrong at it stayed stuck at the black "Loading..." screen.
Perhaps this might help you out...

Dude, I feel ya. I have several projects that seem to have potential but I get frustrated trying to understand and automate stuff with Vizzy.
I've taken plenty of training classes on different program languages over the years but nothing actually stuck in my head.
This might date me quite bit, but the very first "real" programming class I took in college was... wait for it...
FORTRAN. It was useless and outdated when I took the class almost 30 years ago (damn I'm old) and I obviously don't remember any of it.
About all I can do is write a program that spits out "Hello world!" in an endless loop. It's a simple but basic bit of coding I can do. (See what I did there?) I learned almost all of my original coding on my old C-64. It was pretty basic (d'oh! I did it again!).
    Hello world!

@MSCSpaceworks I just might be able to do that! Gonna give it a shot... heh
Between screenshots of SR2 on my Mac (with all performance settings set to "high") and screen recordings on my iPad (medium-ish settings), I already have several years worth of screen captures of some sort just waiting to post! ;)
On a related note, I installed SR2 on my "higher-specs-than-my-iMac" MacBook Pro yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that there's cloud sync! It took forever to load on my laptop the first time... because it was syncing everything from my iMac... my crafts, my sandboxes, my vizzy programs, my custom launch locations, and, most importantly, the 300+ screenshots I've been taking on my iMac. Cloud sync is probably available for most games on Steam, but I only use Steam for SR2 and, of course, The Henry Stickmin Collection. :) Great technology that just works!™️
I have some shots of a transformers/robot stand off I set up before spawning and driving that awesome Rolls Royce onto the launch pad. In an effort to de-escalate the Stand-Off, I proceeded to do some donuts in-between the three robots. Check out my profile bio to see a preview photo of the robot vs. transformers. Fun fun fun!
A very sincere thank you for liking my "photos". I have fun composing my pics creatively for all to enjoy.

Oh, I don’t expect things to work correctly... I’m just goofing around. I like to take “photos” or screen recordings of my goofing off...Like piling 6 Droonauts on top of the “Simple Hopper 2.0”, fly it near a couple auto-turrets, sit back and watch the mayhem.
Interestingly enough, I’ve learned more about Building crafts and Vizzy while having fun. I‘ve always sucked at programming of any sort... but doing some of these goofy things And messing around with the vizzy code... vizzy is actually beginning to make sense. Emphasis on “beginning.
Maybe one day I’ll actually be able to build a original craft from scratch.
    Emphasis on *maybe
    .
    :)

Glad you liked the pics. I have a lot of fun composing interesting or dare I say even Sometimes artistic “photographs” in the SR2 world.

I don't have a Windows box to see how well it would perform. I'll tell ya this, tho...
I'm using a Mid-2011 iMac with a 3.1ghz Core i5, 16GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD6970M with 1024MB. Not a speed demon at all but it'll run SR2 set to high quality… except I do turn off water physics, tweak the shadows and turn off launch steam/camera shake.
With those settings I still get around 55-60fps. Not bad for a 9 year old computer! :)
I was very surprised that my 5 year old MacBook, that boasts a more powerful CPU and a high-end dedicated video processor, SR2 simply plays and works better on the older iMac. It is consistently better performing with all the eye candy in high quality. Which is fine by me.

    Here's an hypothetical situation:

    In the block house:
"RSO? What we're launching we don't need no RSO!"
    ...
    Meanwhile, at the launch pad:
    ---Proton launched
---Proton immediately decides to head off course, almost as if someone installed a sensor upside down
---Proton begins it's uncontrolled "flight" and decent
---People who'd gathered to watch/film the launch all begin to poo themselves in unison, wondering if the Proton was going to head for them
    ---Proton finally hits the ground
    ---Proton goes kaBOOM!!!!
---People watching/filming launch all begin to hit the ground in their poo-filled pants as the shockwave approaches
---Shockwave and sound hits the several groups of people with poo-filled pants, causing a disgusting, nasty and sticky mess.
    ...
Meanwhile, back in the block house:
"See? Proof positive that an RSO is not needed. The ground does just as good of a job as an RSO... but for free."

have the system requirements changed from .9.6.xx to .9.7.xx? None of the .9.7xx betas have run on my Mac... I just get a black screen where "Loading..." normally appears. downgrading back to .9.6xx gets things working again. My other Mac will run the betas, but it's slightly newer.

steam loads and works fine. I'm able to successfully launch other games via steam. I also confirmed my computer will run Unity 2020. I realize it could be a bug, but since it wasn't fixed in .703 who knows. thats why I want the devs to see. also on both computers I run SR2 on, Droo has turned into a white ball that looks like a white dwarf. It looks like this on both .161 and .701/.703, both in the main menu screen and in-game.
also, on the computer that is running the .703 beta Droo has become a water world, with the DSC sitting on a small island covered with dirt and just big enough to contain just the DSC. no other land in sight. I'll keep trying things and hope for the best. But I really would like to see Droo normal again instead of a white dwarf. Never even touched Planet Studio so I know I didn't screw it up.

@Tweedle_Aerospace When I opt into the public beta, SR2 will not load, it locks up at the black loading screen. it only does that on one of my computers. the other loads the latest public beta just fine. well, it has it's own issues that are not as big of a deal as the lockups.
while typing this I began to wonder if Unity 2020 is compatible with my older system specs. after googling, I found that my Mac does indeed meet the system requirements. I also tried installing the public beta once again (after a reboot) and it behaves the same... locks up at the "Loading..." screen. It's kinda frustrating. thank god it will downgrade...

Do you mean what the maximum power output of a Mr. Fusion system is or the power required to power the flux?
I'm not sure what the Mr. Fusion maxes out at, but it needed refueling after one flux event. So 1.84 GW might be close to the max rated output. I suppose the extra power could be stored then used to spin thousands of scroll wheels at peak spin times.

    3.1 years ago
  • Profile image

Wouldn't a "Mr. Fusion" take care of all 1.21GW? I mean, just a couple banana skins and half a Miller High-Life should be plenty of fuel for that much power.

@Spenzerointernational I've probably 6 or 7 planes, several of them are by ZeroAerospace. I've "U-Hauled" his tanker and am working on his space shuttle type craft. I'm thinking about putting some cargo doors on top... and it's fun to fly. two large huge cargo planes, and a few ground vehicles. i’ve got a starship transporter that can move a fully fueled Starship Cargo. it's a really cool (and heavy duty) truck that picks up, rotate from horizontal to vertical, open the "grabbers", drive forward a few feet, swap to the starship and fly it with its vizzy working normally. getting that to work was a chore. lots of crushed starships. I think I’ve found the sweet spot.

almost all craft are not mine. most I just painted and left alone but have done tweaks and changes on a couple. I’ve kept track of who created each craft to ensure they get credited.

I’ve even thought about posting this thing as a sandbox once i get those hangars full. heh

Looking back at my history I see that you are the creator of the interior test plane with the 40 droonauts... Wait until you see the complete official "Smokey and the Bandit" play set. Snowman One is included (not pictured) along with three tanker trucks (or "kegs", if you will), each carrying 28,000kg of wonderful Coors (each "keg" have already been tapped at the rear for immediate, convenient deployment), six Bandit blocker jets, one Smokey micro jet, and... some other details I may add after watching the movie again. Some assembly required, batteries are pre-installed. For ages 6 - 50.

@Rizkyman You never fail to impress. I really don’t think you need to put “I’m not a programmer” in your code. I’m pretty sure your Vizzy skills qualifies you as a programmer.

@KellyNyanbinary I use your auto-reuse v.1.1 rocket all the time and love it. Additionally, thank you very much for KAL 1.1.32 cuz I’d be lost, both literally and figuratively, without it.

@iSpace I’ve had a lot of fun with your craft including your Luna X Lander. I should post some pics of my manned version of it. Quite challenging to get the manned version of the lander to the surface safely. But I’ve gotten better at it. :)

Thanks to all y’all for creating some great crafts and great code. I’ve become quite familiar with your stuff which is one reason a lot of my screenshots feature your work.

Okay gang, now that the credits are over, let’s give this photo a great title. :D
