also, just a question and a minor request related to it:
when can we expect to get the update's own page on the blog and releases page? i haven't checked there yet so idk
as for the request, if/when you do make the update page, could a list of all the career mission/contract types and a simple description for them (no strategies or anything, just what it's about) please be added?
i do wish internal combustion engines existed in JNO/SR2, technically we do have the generator but it's fairly finnicky: if set to burn jet fuel to make electricity which can then power wheels; jet fuel is kerosene, which is somewhat similar to diesel and infact most older diesel cars could in theory run on aircraft kerosene albeit not too great, but still, proper gasoline and ability to choose if you want wheels to run off of either gasoline or electricity (like right now) would be cool
it's basically been dealt with over on SP
idk if they ever appeared over here, but in any case i wanted to make a post about it since due to the similarity between the two sites they could easily hop over to here as well
@Touhoufan
the "material" attribute defines the color that the specific section of a part uses, with 0 being the first color (on the top left of the color menu), 1 coming to the right of it, and so on, going from left to right
for example, if you have the colors as:
0: white
1: gray
2: black
3: blue
4: red
then a part with the materials assigned as 0,1,2,3,4 will have its Primary section colored white, its Trim 1 section as gray, Trim 2 as black, Trim 3 as blue, and Trim 4 as red
i hope this helped you
UPDATE: devs and mods have just shredded a bunch of the scam posts over on SP. more will likely be coming, though, so watch your back and remember to smash the report button on those scrubs!
my apologies if this post sounds "fake" or like a news report... i have to get it out just in case and i definitely want it to be somewhat attention grabbing but not too in-your-face.
just wondering, will it be possible to at least adjust the opacity of the designer UI? while i can't personally test the beta (since i don't have SR2 on PC), i generally dislike translucent UI's, so i was wondering if we will be able to do any adjustments to it once the full thing releases
it doesn't work, it doesn't activate at any mach number
do i need to adjust something on the input controller (like output/axis, min/max values, etc)?
@ChaoticGraviton
try turning terrain physics on (it's in the main tab where you set name, description, radius, etc), if it was already on then it's a bug with the game, i've had it multiple times too
i'm pretty sure you can upload more than 4, i heard the devs implemented that feature into this game and site too (it originated from SP) but it didn't work due to some reason so they disabled it, though that was a fairly long time ago so maybe they have since fixed and re-enabled it?
@SamTheFox
yeah, it does sound really weird, and the afterburner gives it a bit more meaty feel but otherwise it definitely lacks the high pitch that jet engines are known for
yes, that too, sometimes i use the connection menu and disable annoying sticky attach points, its super useful, but as you said rather underused
@plane918273645
you need to decrease the grid size and angle snap values in the designer
if it still doesn't go to the right spot, place the parts just floating in the designer and move them to the correct spot with the translation tool, then use the connection menu to connect the part(s) to the body
you need to edit the SMA's of the celestial bodies in the system's XML file, so far its the only way to get orbits beyond whatever the normal limit is
@Gen3ralInterstel1ar
you need something that supports png and can make transparent stuff, i used kapwing myself for a short while since it supports png and can do transparent but otherwise its not that good
my version is, as i said, a mix of both; as such, it'll keep things like the Taurus revamp (albeit reverted back to Titan yellow color) or other changes, but the blue Juno and extended Droo atmosphere will definitely be reverted back to the old color/height since many people complained about that
@Toinkove
yeah maybe lol
i'm also 100% reverting Droo atmosphere to original height, that and the blue dwarf were by far the most complained about things in the update lol
@Wenhop
yeah, school always overexxagerated planets by saying "they're egg/lemon/potato shaped" even tho it's like a few kilometer difference so for any normal person it'd just be spherical if viewed from space
@SamTheFox
yes... sometimes i straight up machine gun them onto the site, other times i'm like "okay i think the planet-building addiction finally ended" (and then starts again a few days later)
@DragoranosSR2

2.4 years agowhen can we expect to get the update's own page on the blog and releases page? i haven't checked there yet so idk

yeah, hydrogen rocket fuels are notorious for leaking out in the tiniest imaginable gap ever... either way, thanks for the info
2.4 years ago@Toinkove
probably yeah

yeah lmao

either the devs, since they put it there in the first place, or planet builders looking in the structures menu

2.5 years agoyeah, exactly the same here
2.5 years ago@TheBirdy
note: i don't have the beta of the game, so i can't check it myself, i have too many things to risk lol
2.5 years agoit's entirely possible if you make the atmosphere short enough in the planet editor
2.5 years agoan actually funny joke or meme - meh
2.5 years agoJimpleRockets2 - [WHEEEEEEEEEEEZE]
yeah, i noticed that too
2.5 years agohowever, in SR2 you can simply enable the ability for normal rocket engines to be usable in warp mode via XML editing
yes, like in the original SR
2.5 years agowhen i get the update it's gonna help speed demons like me a lot lol
@Themaxest
i think it is this video but i am not sure, you may need to use a translator however
2.5 years ago@TTfree479
i see
2.5 years agodoes it stay when you leave PS or no?
edit: tried it, it does stay, even after you leave the game
@eyov2
yes, yes, yes and yes

2.6 years agosure, i'll go upload it unlisted
2.6 years ago@Reberbri
it is just the ordinary throttle input for the rocket engine, 0 minimum, 1 maximum, output, standard
2.6 years ago@ChaoticGraviton
it doesn't work, it doesn't activate at any mach number
2.6 years agodo i need to adjust something on the input controller (like output/axis, min/max values, etc)?

2.6 years ago1 or 4
2.6 years agoyep, good idea, defo using that technique, thanks
2.6 years ago@YaMomzBox420
yep lol
2.6 years ago2.2 lacunarity and 0.7 gain on the clouds looks really darn good
@Luckwut
obviously the other crafts are lit too

2.7 years agoyes, that too, sometimes i use the connection menu and disable annoying sticky attach points, its super useful, but as you said rather underused
2.7 years ago@plane918273645
yeah for rings you need to use a program that can create png's
2.7 years ago@DragoranosSR2
you need to decrease the grid size and angle snap values in the designer

keep in mind that i still haven't updated the game yet due to personal reasons, so i can't get the new system yet
2.7 years ago@Wenhop
i'm planning to make a Juno system that blends the new one and the previous one, and yes it will have yellow star
2.7 years agoi'll try one of those, thanks
2.7 years ago@Toinkove
can you give the calculation to get volume from radius?
2.7 years ago@Toinkove
yeah, and ofc there's many other interstellar crafts too

yes... sometimes i straight up machine gun them onto the site, other times i'm like "okay i think the planet-building addiction finally ended" (and then starts again a few days later)

don't care
2.7 years ago@TronicOrbital
that too
