@AlphaAreospace Do you mean "yea". If so, your spelling was confusing. I am glad you explained yourself. And what does "YoyleCake" mean? The language translator does not recognize this word.

Guess what showed up today now that the update side bar retracts again.

    v 1.2.107.0

    Gotta love it.

  • Profile image

Looks like all is working now. No prompt to update, just the usual info about the update and then the side bar retracts as usual. I can only assume that the reinstall worked and reconnected to steam and the update process as per usual.
Still no 'In main screen, top right, the tiny white numbers' to be found for version confirmation.

Canon = Part of the core game.
For example, the Dragon Docking HUD is not Canon but should be.
@ ElmerTheCat I would say no because it is still a mod.

OK, got the sync to work. The parallax features are working fine. Some of these may just may have needed a refresh.

I just still get the 'What's new ' side bar comes up and tells me there is an update and I need to update.

    So, how do I update?

Or is it just an info message advertising the 1.2 update?
Still have no idea what version I'm on since the message Tom gave me "In main screen, top right, the tiny white numbers" appears no where. In any screen.

Now I am getting a unable to cloud sync. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it.

The mods are still there but need to be reactivated. All the planetary systems are gone except the standard Juno System.

Is there a simple fix for this or is it a Steam issue? I do not think this is a 1.2 upgrade issue or a Parallax issue, but the timing is suspect. Still have no idea if I'm on version 1.2 or not. The Player Log says. 'Initialize engine version: 2022.3.7f1 (b16b3b16c7a0)'

    Also from the Player log.
Fallback handler could not load library C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/SimpleRockets2/SimpleRockets2_Data/MonoBleedingEdge/data-000002413CCB3020.dll

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks Tom,
    Got new glasses yesterday ironically.

For the life of me, I cannot find these numbers. I made sure my steam settings are on automatic updates and I'm sure I was able to see these numbers at one time.

But I have never had the 'What's new slide out" que me to update before.

Maybe everything is ok but I just do not know.

@JanusSpaceIndustries Not directly. That would be up to you if you like planetary work. This could easily be a multi person project. Orbiting Earth and imagining all the history that took place below over the millenniums. All the geological features in 3d. It would be beautiful.

@HyperPatch Thanks. I appreciate that. Back in the late nineties. I was able to download a significant collection of Solar system object Maps. NASA, USGS, etc. Some in the size you speak of. The Galilean moons for sure, maybe Earth, but mostly in the 8192 range.

To See Earth at that resolution would be astounding. Is this where we're headed?
Would any of these maps be of use to you?

P.S. Your Moon 3D rendering in the 1.5.3 RSS is the best I've ever seen. Keeps us coming back for more.

@HyperPatch I sure do appreciate Your Real Solar System work. I asked Pedro about importing NASA maps to Planet Studio. I was under the impression That all the maps in Planet studio were artistically created, and it was your artistic creativity that made the Real-World Earth rendering and the Moon and so forth.

I think I was being told the high-resolution maps can be imported to planet Studio.

Could you tell me if this is so and how large of maps can be imported?

I f there are other resources that might explain all this, I would be grateful for any help.

    Thanks much.

@Pedro So, this capability is already there, just that higher pixel count maps can be used? If I got this right, how large of maps can be imported?

Sharp, Defined, Shock Diamonds. Eye candy indeed. Will we be able to import Large JPGs, PNGs or TIFFs into Planet Studio?
I'm thinking of some of the NASA photographic cylindrical maps developed by them over the years.

@JanusSpaceIndustries I wouldn't know. For some maybe. Marriage and/or kids is not for everyone. It's probably best not to try to be someone you are not.

The joke I was trying to make is that if you can keep your woman happy then you can afford to have both a PC and an Android. Problem solved. And trying to squeeze PC software on to a more limited phone environment makes no sense. Apples and Oranges, no pun intended.

The best solution is to have two identical gaming PCs, one for yourself and one for your wife but you don't have to learn how upkeep the one she confiscated since it's identical.
But she will want an Apple iPad too and you need to learn how to upkeep it for her and then get two identical Android phones. Same idea as the PCs. She gets one and you the other but only need to learn it one time for upkeep.
So, the real issue is her. Weapons optional.
