Every time I start a new ship only the original 10 AGs are available.
Some of the new ships to download are using 14-16 AGs.
I see that these ships have availability of 20 AGs.
What's the trick to get this capability?

You can also just simply edit the “Activationgroupnames” line in “Command Pod” in Tinker Panel, hidden properties. Adding individual AG,s, one at a time, as you need more Action Groups. It’s been a while since I’ve needed to do that, but if you google it there is even a video showing you how to do it, it’s easy Brother! I have Crafts with 11, 12, 13 Action Groups, with this method, you just add them as you need more. Google: “SimpleRockets 2, add Action Groups” or something like that, there are a few instruction videos out there…

there's a modded comnand chip out there with 30 AG slots, i'll try to find the link for it
edit: here
it used to also give 50 color slots but that no longer seems to work

Found it.
Under, Hidden Properties, CommandPod, ActivationGroupNames and ActivationGroupStates have to be expanded together i.e same number of words/slots
Hit Apply and all is well in the world.
