Lift may be fixed by adjusting the trim angle. Or even hiding another wing inside to negate the action.
Engines can be nerfed by blocking the intakes with a cap that you color invisible for looks.
@urownpersonalgod
Maybe add some pistons with hinge points to add stability.
Being a sandbox craft you should be able to paint them invisible and make them weight less with no drag.
Terrible option but its possible to get the job done.
Another way is to just place the turbine where you wish. Then use the Part Connection Tool to choose what part you wish to connect it to.
Be sure to turn auto resize off so the new parts dont match the old parts size and dimensions.
Look at the cargo drone built. Parts really dont even need to be near anything to actually connect. Its a bit of a cheat if you ask me but im lazy in career mode so i do it.
You could math it in vizzy but I just repeated the challenge until I found the right path.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is having a breaking system.
Aim to over shoot it in map view.
Then pull parachute.
Youll see how your falling path changes in map view.
Use engines to break and push you on target.
Well, theres a mirror option somewhere. Find that in the tabs.
Tricky part is understanding what your mirroring.
If you mirror the craft itself, you will be copying one side and printing it to the other side.
If you do the wrong side just click undo.
Now
If you are trying to mirror parts then it can get weird.
Sometimes youll end up with a messed up look.
Basically it will mirror everything in the same branch that the parts are connected to.
So for example, say you are making an octopus and trying to mirror individual legs from one side to the other.
If you mirror a part half way down the leg then youll only copy and paste half of the leg.
Just mess with mirroring until you understand it. Its the best way.
Use a craft you dont care about or be sure not to save it.
@Zenithspeed I suggested it a couple times but it gets shrugged off for some reason.
Im sure it could be done and just have an option to turn it off in graphics for mobile potatoes.
@Zenithspeed
Sounds tight dude!
I wish terrains had different effects like traction and drag.
Slippery snow/ice or sand that drags could make things so much more real.
@Ammarared
Just keep trying and you will eventually get it.
The trick is having enough thrust to slow down in time.
T.T. Is so light and small that you often sail right through the SOI and out the other side.
Add an extra stage to your rocket in hopes to slow down enough to catch an orbit.
@Zenithspeed
Yes a good trick indeed.
I was just trying to find an answer for @ColonelStriker
The clipping would be necessary to create the effect desired in the first concept.
Probably by clipping the engine and air intake with another part but it will be hard to fine tune.
Often times when people build jets they mess up and overlap a part on the engines or air intakes.
The result is a less powerful engine.
I believe there is only so far you can clip the parts before the engine stops working all together.
So you’ll get maybe a 50% decrease in thrust but clip any more and it just stops working.
@Zenithspeed if you do that be sure the plane will do the job once it’s there by testing its speed in the valley below village runway.
Would be a shame to fly for an hour only to not have the ability to gain that kind of speed while grounded.
The plane might need wheels and shocks instead of landing gear also.
I did mine in the huge flat open valley between Ali launch pad and air strip.
I just slammed wheels and a double shock system on a sideways rocket.
Lots of oscillation.
Make it long and enough wheels so if you do hit a bump then at least one should still be grounded. 6-10 should do.
@Zenithspeed
Not afraid to give other’s an advantage through knowledge, convenience or available tools for fear of being out voted.
Apparently people cherish this upvote concept so much they treat it as if they are at war.
I’m just here to grow and help others.
I’m glad you are not selfish is basically what I’m saying.
@CosmosMan
Arrow tab first to open a small window with more tabs.
Then at the bottom it’s the purple plug looking tab for connections.
The rest is self explanatory.
Pick a part and the tool will let you connect or disconnect as many other parts as you wish.
Play with it on a craft you’re not worried about messing up.
