The problem with planet studio on mobile is not the battery consumption, but the fact that generating new terrain requires tons of power out of your CPU that mobile devices just don't have.
As @Insanity said, it's currently not capable of actually doing any editing—that's still done via XML modding. One thing to note about it is on mobile you can't control the camera in it without an external keyboard. Also, when the planet studio is capable of doing editing in-game, it might not be available on mobile.
The site itself isn't too active, but the SRC Discord server is pretty active and is probably your best bet if you want to interact with the community.
To add onto what @Bmcclory said, the keyboard shortcuts only work when the crafts you're switching between are less than 1km away, otherwise you'll have to use the map.
@Gustavus While I believe you, unfortunately there's no way for us to actually tell 100% if you're being truthful or not. The Terms Of Use clearly state that users under the age of 13 cannot use the site, and this is basically because the law says you cannot knowingly collect data from someone under the age they can give consent to data collection in their country (in most cases around 13-16 years old). You didn't exactly make it clear that you were joking -- in-fact you made it sound like you weren't joking, and that's not a risk we can take.
I'm not sure it's mathematically possible for you to be 15. You said you were 12 about 9 months ago sooo.. I dunno. I think it's safe to assume you're at least 13 now so it's possible we could unban your account, but due to how the law works it's probably better you start from scratch with your new account.
You could open the dev console (It's unbound by default. The setting to bind it to a key is in the 'other' category for setting keybinds) and enter MLI while in-flight. Gives you infinite fuel.
