Second of all, no other information on the release date except this year, 2019.
The first 30 minutes of 0.6.9.1 was absolutely horrible. Craft saving and loading takes minutes. Sandboxes too. But after 30 minutes of play time things went back to normal.
This had been asked a lot of times in this forum, the discords, and Reddit, and it had already been answered in the FAQ. THERE IS NO FURTHER INFORMATION EXCEPT IT WILL BE RELEASED IN 2019
@Nerfenthusiast Well stopping to learn did happen to some people when someone (like me) have the approximate same skills after years of gameplay. It’s that unless one is very dedicated to the game he or she might stop improving

As of your questions...
About side boosters. Since parts could be placed anywhere any fuel tank and engine combination could be moved aside and become a side booster, although SR2 does not have solid rocket boosters yet.
About RCS ports
When placed in a craft they usually face outwards, which means when eight of them are placed on the craft’s fore and aft (four on each end), yaw and pitch rotations could be achieves. Roll could be done by placing four pairs of RCS ports (two RCS ports facing opposite directions) on the surface of the craft, all rotations could be done.
About motions sickness.
From my own experience, any 3D game played too long will cause motion sickness.
