Auto Credit Based on OrbitalSailorsAerospace's JNO Launch Failure (v1.1)

Made by OrbitalSailorsAerospace and Bubble89

If you ever wanted a little more excitement when launching your beautiful creations into space than this is perfect for you. JNO Launch Failure is a vizzy program that, as the name implies, adds the possibility of a failure at launch.

How it works:

When you launch with the JNO Launch Failure cube attached to your craft, the code will “roll the dice” to determine whether it will attempt to trigger a failure. If the roll succeeds, a random altitude is selected where the failure may occur (this altitude window can be adjusted).

Once that altitude is reached, the code will run a series of checks to determine what type of failure will happen, and if all conditions are met, finally, a failure is triggered. However, if you're lucky enough, there is still a chance nothing will happen due to how the code works. This is a purposeful feature that brings more unpredictability to the code.

NOTE: You're going to want to attach the cube to your command pod/disc area, or anywhere that will stay in the craft at all times during the ascent.

Changelog

  • Added a new failure variation: Navigation Drift.
    Unlike the regular navigation glitch (which just points the rocket in a random direction) this failure causes the craft to slowly drift away from its intended heading. This failure is not clearly announced like the others, so if you're not paying attention, your craft can be sent up to 30° off-course. Navigation Drift is continuous and will keep affecting the craft until you manually correct the heading or leave the failure window.
    You can change the probabilty of this failure variation in the code's config area;
  • Added a new failure window type: Orbit Window.
    In the default failure window, the craft is automatically safe after crossing a specified maximum altitude, but in the orbit window, the craft is only safe once its periapsis crosses the specified value;
  • Added the option to controll the probability of each failure type:
    You can now adjust how likely each failure type is to occur, allowing you to bias or disable specific failures entirely;
  • Added the option to controll the probabilty of the engine explosion failure;
  • Added the option to toggle on/off the failure announcement messages;
  • Improved the config area;
  • Reorganized the code;
  • Changed how the debug logs work;
  • Fixed typos (there are porbably still some)
  • Made the cube part a bit smaller

Features

By default, there is a 20% chance that the code will attempt to trigger a failure, this percentage is customizable in the code's config area.

-Possible Failures:
- Engine malfunction causing shutdown
- Engine malfunction causing oscillation and shutdown
- Engine malfunction causing oscillation and explosion
- Interstages and side interstages prematurely activating
- Fairings prematurely activating
- Navigation Glitch, which points the rocket in a random direction
- Navigation Drift, which slowly deviates the rocket's heading from the intended course

-Failure Windows:
The specific values for these windows are customizable in the code's config area
- Altitude Mode (default): A failure can happen at any time while the craft is in between a specified altitude window, by default that is from whatever altitude the spwanpoint is up to 80000 meters above ground level.
- Orbit mode: A failure can happen at any time while the craft has not achieved the specified orbit, by default that is a 80000 meters apoapsis and a 80000 meters periapsis.

-Funny messages when a part fails (most from ChatGPT)
Those include:
- "It's not rocket science, they said"
- "We have a(nother) problem.... "
- "Someone spilled their coffee on the "do not press" buttons again"
And many more. You can also disable them if you preffer

Thank you for giving JNO Launch Failure a shot :)

    @castellareospace yeah, if i manage to add it, it'll definetly be togglable lol

    @OrbitalSailorsAerospace But that should be only on unmanned probes sinse we dont want a Soyuz-1 accident on carreer and on sandbox

    @castellareospace descent failures are an intended feature, but I never thought about parachutes, I'll definitely keep that in mind!

    @OrbitalSailorsAerospace You could add the failure off a parachute failing to deploy
