A New Kind of Space Race: Space Station

By SR2SpaceFlight. June 19, 2021

A new space race is beginning, but this time, the goal is building space stations, not rockets.

There are several companies working hard to develop their space station. Those space stations include CSS III space station, Gamma ,etc.

CSS III Space Station

The program is a Forwind Aerospace-led community space station program. Many players have joined the program, such as bmcclory, ChaoticGraviton, KuiperAerospace, KirRu, etc.

The dimensions of the completed CSS facility will be approximately 70 meters by 70 meters, or slightly larger than a seven-a-side football field. It circles the Droo every 47 minutes, traveling at 3.28 kilometers per second, flying in one of the lowest orbits possible at approximately 200 kilometers above Droo.

The CSS III has a large number of external components that do not require pressurisation. The largest of these is the Integrated Truss Structure (ITS), to which the station's main solar arrays and thermal radiators are mounted.

Gamma Station

iSpace has plans for its own LDO station called Gamma.
iSpace aims to start launching its first commercial modules to 300 kilometers low Droo orbit by June, to building a living and research space for astronauts.

It is worth mentioning that Gamma has its own docking port system called GDS-2. As a result, crew and cargo can be transferred between two spacecrafts.

Additionally, they have partnered with GoldenShadowGS and Plane918273645 to develop the Gamma Space Station. These players have a great deal of experience developing automatic program.

A New Era

It's the beginning of a new era. We hope to see more space stations launch to space in future.
