NASA announced Nov. 8 that it is now planning a first launch of its Space Launch System rocket no earlier than December 2019, even as a review concluded the rocket isn’t likely to fly until mid-2020.

@diegoavion84 the real world atmosphere extends much beyond 100km. 100km is merely the Karman line, orbits at that height will be slowed by the atmosphere at re-enter under half a day.

6.9 years agoWell the Shuttle did hitch a ride when going into orbit as it had the large external tank and the two solid rocket boosters.
And its tiny OMS will never get it to the Moon.
