The Avalonia Deep Space Insertion Vehicle (DSIV) is a crewed interplanetary spacecraft designed and built with a collaboration between Nova Aerospace, NASA (United States), ESA (Europe), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan) and ISRO (India), the Avalonia is able to support science exploration or colonization missions to Titan for a currently indeterminate amount of time.

In August 2021, faster methods of interplanetary travel was greatly needed for the Aether Program as long stays in space had negative health effects, Nova Aerospace negotiated with several other space agencies for the funding and assistance in developing a large spacecraft which would dock with other spacecraft and transport them to planets such as Mars and Titan.

Named after an Earth microcontinent, the Avalonia's design took high inspiration from favorited sci-fi films, mainly The Martian.

Avalonia's design is far too big for launching from within Earth's atmosphere and launching multiple modules would require development and testing of rockets even larger than what is currently available. To solve this problem, a Space Dock would be needed for on-orbit assembly, maintenance and launch.

Avalonia's Space Docks, named ASGARD followed by the starting letter of their orbiting planets (eg. ASGARD-E, ASGARD-M) orbit above the Exospheres of Earth and Mars. An orbit above the Exosphere was chosen so the Space Docks wouldn't need to be boosted in order to stay in orbit, doing so would require an impractical amount of fuel.

ASGARD-E's construction was started in 2022 and finished in 2023. While Avalonia's design was in its final phase in development, ASGARD-E's systems and machines were periodically tested with other spacecraft. At this time, a mining colony on Mercury was being established in order to provide resources.

The final design of Avalonia was finished in 2024, the ship has many advanced technologies which were only under research a few years ago. Avalonia's propulsion system would use six radial mounted ion engines engines using Liquid Hydrogen propellant which offers higher Specific Impulse, in the center is a single hybrid cycle engine which can switch to an electrical cycle to act as a more powerful ion engine and a Nuclear Thermal cycle to act as a chemical engine. For this system to work without overheating too quickly the Avalonia has numerous radiator panels.

The most unique feature of Avalonia are its Stasis Chambers located in the rear Gravity Ring, these Stasis Chambers work by lowering body temperature by only 5°C, this minor temperature change is enough to slow metabolic rates by 50–70%. All one hundred Stasis Chambers are monitored by onboard Supercomputers. Crew members under stasis would have about 300 grams of liquid nutrients directly fed into the bloodstream on a daily basis, waste would be collected and stored in unpressurized modules before being ejected into the vacuum of space.

@118Industries the game for some reason puts the craft inside the atmosphere of Saturn when a large craft exits the SOI of the station. The only way to fix this issue is to either significantly increase the gravity of the station, or to move it beyond Titan’s orbit.

@118Industries yeah idk what's going on there

Idk if anyone else is having this problem, but it seems to explode when leaving a planet's SOI. I'm launching from the Saturn Orbital Shipyard on @lordvader0219's Stellar Neigborhood system if that helps.
