Please read the description (I put a lot of effort into it). The "How to Fly" section is important to read before downloading. This isn't a difficult craft to fly, but it's better to avoid going in blind.

The Chimeric-02 (CH-02) "Dolphin" is an electric transport helicopter featuring two side-mounted adjustable propellers and stands as one of OSAS' best-designed aircraft. While it might not have the range, speed, or altitude, it's unquestionably our coolest creation to date.
Its primary objective is to efficiently and stylishly transport military equipment and personnel to hard-to-access locations. Additionally, it can serve as a civilian aircraft, fulfilling the same role.

This craft is a part of Project Ptero and, when utilized in this context, can be attached to the top of the GL-O "Quetza" and deployed mid-flight to compensate for its shorter range.

-How to fly

*Takeoffs

  1. Turn on the lights (because they're shiny) - AG 9 and AG 10
  2. Set the Slider 2 to 100% and wait a few seconds for the engines to reach full power
  3. Throttle up to 55% and you'll be off

*Going forwards

  1. Fold in the skids - AG 8
  2. Slowly pitch down to gain some horizontal speed
  3. Once you're at around 20m/s, you can slowly start to tilt the propellers forward by bringing Slider 1 to 100%
  4. With the propellers in the right configuration, throttle up to 65-70% and maintain it at this level
  5. If you want to get the most out of the Dolphin speed-wise, set the pitch to 100% (so it pitches down) and keep the throttle at 80-100%
At this stage, you pretty much use as much throttle to pitch as the ailerons themselves. Throttling up the specified percentage will make you pitch up, and throttling down will make you pitch down

*Stopping

  1. Activate the Stability Assist - AG 7 (this will make the Dolphin try to stay level, but my coding skills aren't that great so the code isn't so good lol)
With this enabled, you'll want to take a different approach to controlling. Instead of just going, you're gonna want to do counter inputs to what the code is doing, especially roll. It's tricky to explain, but it's not that hard to get used to.
  2. Take the propellers back to the original position - Slider 2 to 0%
  3. Keep pitching up in order to cancel out your horizontal speed
  4. If you want to stop faster or if just pitching up isn't working, tilt the propellers backward by setting Slider 2 to -100%. Just be careful not to overdo it; if you keep going with the propellers backward, you'll end up flipping over

*Landing

  1. Once you have little or no horizontal speed, hold the throttle down button (the code will try to compensate for the descent by increasing power, but as long as you hold the throttle down, you'll just descend at a nice pace anyway)
Again, remember to control the Dolphin by countering the code's attempts to keep the craft level. Landing is the easiest moment to lose control.
  2. Deploy the skids again - AG 8
  3. When you're about to touch down (or right as you do), disable the Stability Assist - AG 7
  4. Keep holding the throttle down for a second
  5. Set Slider 2 to 0% to turn off the propellers

-Some Numbers

Flight speed: ~115m/s
Max speed: ~165m/s
Operation Cealing: 4500 m

Here's a commercial version of the CH-02 Dolphin

Here's the Dolphin deploying from the Quetza (the gif is weird and there's a watermark cause i used a random website but it's there. Also, it's sped up)

If you've made it this far, I assume you want to download and test OSAS' Chimeric-02. If you enjoy this craft, please consider upvoting and commenting to keep my motivation going a little longer, haha.

Thank you for choosing OSAS, and happy flying!
(Oh, here's a tip: It's super fun to do low passes with this, trust me!)

@Periodic Of course! Feel free to get and use OSAS' Dolphin

Just.... make sure you're very familiar with flying and comfortable countering the instability.

huh I was trying to make a double rotor helicopter like this for my colonies but I’m objectively awful at designing them let alone making them look good. Great craft!
