Hey everyone ! First of all, I want to thanks you for passing tree thousands points !

So, here it is; the CLS (Charlie Launch System) is now released, and it offer incredible performances !


Let's start with the most fantastic : the rocket is shot by a cannon !
Because of escaping from the earth gravity is one of the most difficult thing to do for a rocket, the charlie launch system integrate a cannon that will propulse this rocket vertically with a propulsion speed of about 350 meters per seconds. For sure, this feature wouldn't be useful on our planet earth, because of it's satellisation speed is over 7000 m.s-1. But, on Droo this speed is about 3000 to 4000 m.s-1 and the propulsion speed is equal to 1/10 of the satellisation speed !

Shoot phase :

  • Speed : >1296 km/h
  • Apoapsis : more than 5km, without the engine thrust.

The rocket is capable of launching up to 17 to à very Droo low orbit (don't exceed 500-500km).
I started to program an auto-launch but this one is a little bit bugged so it's disabled by default. You can change it (at your own risks !) on the main program.
You also can disable the auto-switching on the main program. Special thanks to Brixxter and bman for their precious help !


Flight Instructions :

  • 1) Set throttle to 100% to start the automated shooting.
  • 2) After the rocket shot, immediately activate the stage to ignite the engine and don't lose speed.
  • 3) Around 20 000 meters, you can activate the stage to drop the fairing. Make sure your time mode is to normal to prevent funky explosion.
  • 4) Circularize the orbit to ~400-400 km. You will need a minimum of 1% of fuel to go back to the ground.
  • 5) Drop the sat. You can switch to it.

    • Activate the stage twice to power on the engine and deploy the solar panels.
    • Press AG1 to open the telescope protection.
  • 6) Wait untile reaching the apoapsis. Re-entry : lock heading to the retrograde. Set the throttle to 100% to bring the Periapsis lower to 50 000m. Make sure that you will land on the water.

  • 7) Drop the utility charge adapter and lock heading to the prograde. (Re-entry)
  • 8) Wait until your altitude is less than 3000 meters. Activate the stage to deplot the parachutes and thats all !
