So KSP has these things called "sepratrons" which, upon staging, fire to either
a): Propel the separated stage away from the full stage
b): Propel the full stage away from the separated stage
These motors are very small, and the smallest engine (the Pixie) when turned into a solid fuelled engine it is extremely big.
Sepratrons would be very useful for things like solid rocket motors, Atlas V recreations, and launch escape systems. It would be a great addition to SimpleRockets 2. Do you agree?

    Unrelated, but you know that the example engines are all the same rocket engine part, just with different settings to begin with.

    Maybe you can use the "tinker panel" to shrink the engine size down ? (I've never tried)
    Also the "separatrons" could be of use if someday some engines require ullage ( avoiding sucking gas, only liquid, by giving the craft a short acceleration just before firing the "big" engine, for some cryogenic fuels )
