After this new update with non primary craft lock vector lockable it is now possible to do long range missile shots the likes of 300km n such, very nice. time to get a pc rig to test this.

Anyone heard about this 217km Su-57 kill in Ukraine? Seems like a record long range

@TritonAerospace That's their max range for the R-37M, not the AMRAAM's NEZ. The only, that I found that is, article talking about it said that's the missile used for the kill. But like I said, even half that is probably too much. If we give it the AMRAAM's max range of 160km, it still needs to travel 57km. This is also ignoring the fact they've claimed stuff with no proof before.

@YaMomzBox420 latest aim 120d have about 100mile range though, 400km is about 215nm i don't know of any AA missiles that can go beyond 200nm

@YaMomzBox420 true, even though mig31 fighters can acquire a track of a 5m rcs target about 150nm ish independently but they have exceptionally big radars with massive energy devotion, su57 radar definitely has a lower output compared to the mig since it is smaller which therefore it may have been helped with datalinks like u said

@YaMomzBox420 No escape zones tend to be smaller than max ranges. Wikipedia says it tops out at 398km. Even if we give it half that, which is rather unrealistic, the Su-57 has to be flying higher and needs a rookie pilot on the Ukrainian aircraft, so I'm gonna call bs lol

No, but that doesn't sound unrealistic for modern long range Air-to-air missiles. Radar guided missiles can use ground based radar and AWACS radar signals for guidance well beyond the range of the radar on the jet that fired it. "Fire and forget" "over the horizon" AMRAAM missiles assisted in such a way are basically standard these days, and can have a range in excess of 400km.
