COMPLETED TEST | OCT 25, 2021
On Monday, October 25, iSpace successfully completed an High-altitude Escape Test of CapsuleTwo’s launch escape capabilities from Pad B at Launch Complex 1. This test, which did not have droonauts onboard the spacecraft, demonstrated the spacecraft's ability to reliably carry crew to safety in the unlikely event of an emergency on ascent. CapsuleTwo lifted off at 9:30 a.m. EDT, or 11:30 UTC, with the escape sequence initiating approximately 74 seconds into flight.
CapsuleTwo's eight engines powered the spacecraft away from Beta at speeds of over 610 km/h. Following separation, the cargo bay was separated and the spacecraft's parachutes were deployed, first the two drogue parachutes followed by the four main parachutes. Capsule safely splashed down in the ocean and mission teams successfully recovered the spacecraft onto iSpace's recovery ship, SailorTwo.
This was the second launch and of this Beta booster, which previously launched the Firmament L1 mission.

Touchscreen for in-flight updates and vehicle control
Insulated wall linings to reduce temperature inside the capsule
Gamma docking system allows the capsule to dock with space station
