Right now the burn gizmo works well but it lacks a couple of things that woluld make it more capable:
-Toggle between tangential and vectorial orientation
Right now the only option is 'absolute', meaning that if you move a prograde burn to the opposite side of the orbit it will be a retrograde burn. Adding an option to change the reference system to tangential would allow you to move the node around to get an encounter more easily. By tangential I mean where a pitch and yaw of 0° is always the same as the prograde arrow.
-Ability to move a node a certain amount of orbits or a certain amount of time
Would eliminate lack of accuracy of just eyeballing it. Moving by orbits would also allow to move by orbits of another body, like instead of your craft around Droo, moving by orbits of Droo around the sun, or Luna around Droo (useful for gravity assists).
-Precise control of impulse vectors
Option to add delta-v values in the 3D space, meaning retrograde/prograde, normal (up/down) and radial (left/right)

Sorry for adding 3 suggestions in one post. They are closely related and would work together.
I know there's a KSP mod, or perhaps more than one, that add this kind of functionality. Maybe looking at those could help!
