The LAPAN logo has the following philosophy:

The LAPAN logo depicts a spacecraft that is sliding and symbolizes the space agency which is determined to achieve high ideals towards an advanced and independent Indonesia.
The four components of the LAPAN logo go hand in hand, symbolizing the four LAPAN competencies, namely:
Space science and atmospheric science; aviation and space technology;
Remote sensing; and
Aviation and space policy studies. The sky blue color is the characteristic color of LAPAN as a space agency.
The yellow color of fire (with / without gradation of color) is the color of the flame, as a symbol of the spirit of driving towards progress and independence. LAPAN's futuristic writing illustrates LAPAN's transformation with a future vision.
