Worldbuilding:

This world is "a lonely planet slowly spinning its way to damnation" (1).

Exploration Aerospace is a comically monopolizing company that is known for profiteering off wars (2). It also takes most of the government budget for The Democratic Republic of Droodsberg, a relatively large nation that owns the DSC Launch Site and is home to New Droodsberg, one of the largest cities in the world.

Most of the conflicts fought by the New Droodsberg military are against The Alisthan Kingdom, the oil-rich desert neighbor. They are known for state-sponsored terror attacks in many nations. While in dire economic straits themselves, they continue to spend on their defense budget and are essentially run by the military.

One of Droodsberg's greatest allies is the powerful nation of The Tahinian Federation, home of the Spacemen (3). It helped Droodsberg get its military program off the ground (literally). It is home to 3 of the largest cities in the world, and also one of the largest militaries. It itself is allied with Haliner Republic, a nation that Alisthan has attacked on occasion, at one point leading to a coalition operation with ended with Alisthan becoming smaller.

A rapidly developing large nation known only as "The 5th Sector" has been making large upgrades to its military, but, has not declared any alliances, meaning that anyone could be a target. They have been one of the most secretive nations from the get go, but this new silence is concerning. It is concerning because; due to its USSR level secrecy, no one knows its true strength.
