N.A.S.E.A., currently relient on only small and medium launch vehicles, had large ambitions. Too large for thier current arsenal of launch vehicles. With plenty reasons, N.A.S.E.A. started the rushed development of their first super heavy launch vehicle in the late 1950’s. After finishing development, the first Neptune III was rolled out to LC39A on the 14th of October, 1962. Ever since that day the Neptune III has flown countless missions, including manned missions to the moon as a part of the Archimedes program, with only a few failures and continues serving N.A.S.E.A. to this day.
