Andrei Tupolev was imprisoned after one of stalins purges and thus TU-2 was designed from a prison cell in 1940. Over 2400 were built.
TU-2 rivaled the JU-88 and proved excellent in winter conditions and could withstand enemy fire.
It would have many variants and China would use this light effective aircraft until the 1980’s.
