@OrbitalOrigins Thanks for the upvote. I've tried something like that before with an electric cycle engine in order to bring it to Mach 5. Ill look into it. I think my main concern is fuel time. How much Delta-V were you able to achieve with the rocket stage?

I brought it to space. Actually makes for a pretty good SSTO (just add some mage engines 😉)
I think a rocket stage on this should have at least 5K Delta-V which should be just enough to get it into orbit from top speed through jet engines and at 15,000 M ASL. It wont be enough to do much else though. A solution to this could be through drop tanks carrying jet fuel to make more room for rocket fuel. I also have the Realistic Engines Overall mod and could use an advanced nuclear engine which will improve Delta-V count.
