Key strengths of the F-5B Hyper Strike Sabre
Great top speed
Excellent turn rate
Great endurance and range
EXCELLENT payload capacity, allowing for extravagant air superiority, CAS, or heavy carpet bombing.
Powerful 25mm gatling gun cannon
Good roll rate
Good acceleration at lower speeds with afterburners
NEW! Comes with 1st gen Fire Control System that can drop ordinance and payload, or launch guided weapons!
Key Weaknesses of the F-5B Hyper Strike Sabre
Low TWR at gross weight, ESPECIALLY in dry mode, making it weak in vertical fights.
Maneuverability is much less responsive at high altitudes
Plane becomes overly responsive under extremely low weight (under 20% fuel) and can become unstable.
Vertical fights at extremely high speeds are not possible. Doing so will result in suborbital ballistic trajectories that are difficult to recover from during descent.
External payload create a lot of drag and significantly reduce top speed.
The F-5B Hyper Strike Sabre is the multi role variant of the F-5A Hyper Sabre (originally intended solely as an air superiority fighter). It retains many of the original advantages of the A variant, but also gets a generous 12 extra external attachment points, on top of the 8 internal ones. This allows you to carry HUGE variety of payload all at once, increasing the jets combat versatility and relevance. On top of this, it also comes fitted with the 1st gen fire control system, for firing missiles, guided bombs, dropping unguided ordinance, and so much more! Fling 22 missiles across the battlefield, bring 30,000Ibs of bombs for carpet bombing the DSC into oblivion, or do a little bit of everything and more with the new F-5B Hyper Strike Sabre!
Enjoy!
