Credits!
Credit goes to Alpha Space Technologies (us), Fronolov, Triton Aerospace, RoKuGou Systems, and plane918273645 (olivew).
The targeting system used on this Fighter Avionics Bay is derived from Fronolov's older targeting code, with tweaks to suit this Avionics Bay's specific needs. Fronolov and olivew also greatly assisted with constructing the closing speed expressions for the RWR filter. Triton Aerospace's FCM code is the predecessor backbone of the Fire Control's weapon selector code. Triton's 4th Gen FBW is also conveniently baked into the system for input wiring onto your jets! And last but not least, RoKuGou Systems also helped with overall development and guidance.
Thank you all so much for your invaluable help with this new system!🙏
Activation Group Setup!
Activation Group 2: Select
Activation Group 3: Launch
Activation Group 4: Jettison
Activation Group 5: Next Target
Activation Group 6: Ballistics Computer
Activation Group 7: Airspeed Autopilot
Instructions!
Just simply save the Avionics Bay as a subassembly, discarding the command chip. Then attach the Avionics Bay on your fighter jet and plug in necessary Activation Groups. You can offset the Avionics bay inward if needed.
Bonus: you can also hook up control surface inputs to Triton Aerospace's Fly By Wire system, and with some gain tuning, you can have Fly By Wire on your own jets too!
Description!
At Alpha Space Technologies, we strive for innovation, powerful performance, convenience, affordability (💲💲💲!!!), battlefield dominating technology, with a tiny emphasis on safety! This resulted in many wonderful projects so far, such as the Gen 1 and 2 Fire Control Systems, our cutting edge performing fighter jets, our C-300A workhorse lifter, our ATDS-40 Turret Defense, and, of course, our wonderful missiles.
Ali Base Intelligence officials and Alpha Space Technologies' officers both believed that such would be the life, both in peace time and war time.
Unfortunately, Intelligence turned out to be... uh, not so intelligent.
Early into the war with DSC, Alpha Space Technologies systems would prove to be surprisingly primitive compared to more advanced systems used by DSC's leading defense manufacturers. Using only one module for everything baked the internal CPU's of the fighter jets as they would be frequently overclocked attempting to handle hundreds of calculations and inputs all in one vizzy code.
And then came the mishaps...
Friendlies kept accidentally shooting one another down in the midst of chaos, most fighters either had no RWR, or very finicky, primitive systems, Fly By Wire didnt even exist, requiring PID autopilot or even imprecise manual control. Activation Groups started piling up. Code got jumbled up. More friendlies would be killed. Enemies would take advantage of the chaos with their more advanced, easier to use systems. And then Alpha Space Technologies began to suffer both PR backlashes and market confidence losses. It was at the peak of despair for Alpha Space Technologies, while being in the midst of a lawsuit, that reality set in:
There needed to be a new weapons network. Not just one module, but SEVERAL working together, with its own power supply, with different systems performing different functions. It needed to have a reliable targeting system, a fully functioning RWR, A Fly By Wire system, a Ballistics Computer for bombs, a flight computer, a display module, a datalink system among all different vehicles and stations, and it would need a battery!
If that wasnt enough, it also needed to be backwards compatible with GEN 2 weapons, while also maintaining modularity for future upgrades and enhancements. Finally, it would have to be convenient to store and place onto new jets and be mass producible.
Amidst the chaos of war, Alpha Space Technologies' Research and Development lab pulled off what they considered to be the miracle that saved Ali Base's Air Force.
Introducing the A.S.T 4080X Fighter Jet Avionics Bay, the Gen 3 Weapons Network for Ali Base and allied Air Forces. It became a massive overhaul of the previous generation, adding new opportunities for even novice military aviation engineers to attach intuitive, convenient and easy to use, and smart systems to their own jets.
For Ali Base, it helped fix critical flaws in battlefield doctrine and allowed Ali Base pilots to achieve much higher survival rates, better situational awareness, increased lethality, lower maintenance times, and allowed the Air Force to truly unite together and fight as one, true force of dominance.
The project has been so successful that Ali Base officials have ordered all vehicles to be constructed with their own variant of the modular GEN 3 network, with new Avionics Bays in Preliminary design phases for Bombers, AWACS, and even surface vehicle variants, like SAMs, Turrets, transport vehicles, Ships, Drones, and so much more.
With this new generational system, building your air force and taking control of the battlefield has NEVER been easier! (and safer too!)

@TritonAerospace Hey man dont be tok hard on yourself! You already have the best Fly By Wire systems on Juno, and who's anyone to say that you cant upgrade them in the future! If you do, let me know cause I want a partnership that can get one of those cool gadgets on my future gen networks

@JustmeSean save the big white Avionics Bay to the Subassemblies, then drag and drop onto your fighter jet, and plug in necessary Activation Groups (see Activation Groups under credits section)! Thats it!

If anyone has any suggestions what is should add for the next iterations of avionics bays, do feel free to let me know!
