NOTE: Rocket is optimized for RSS so ∆v is much higher than what is needed on the normal Juno System. Perform gravity turn immediately and beware of extreme pitch changes as the rocket is sensitive to such changes and will lead to a loss of control. By default it has 137 tons of mass simulator but removing the mass simulator will allow you to make custom vehicles. Thank you!
A RSS-optimized recreation of the now-cancelled Ares V, formerly the Cargo Launch Vehicle or CaLV for the Constellation Program. It was designed to launch the Altair lander to LEO and once the Orion spacecraft was docked to the Altair the Earth Departure Stage would restart and propel the stack to a trans-lunar injection. It could deliver 110 tons to LEO, quite excessive for launching lunar missions but was designed to eventually launch a crewed Mars Transfer Vehicle across many launches to fulfill Constellation's main goal, crewed missions to Mars. One proposed use for the Ares V would be to launch enormous telescopes to L2 without folding mirrors, and with folding mirrors much much larger vehicles could be launched. Enjoy my rocket! Thank you so much for reading!
