SEND YOUR LUNAR SATELLITE WITH ORION TECHNOLOGIES!

Our second CLPS lunar lander mission was announced Monday, dubbed OT-2 “Artemis”. Using the baseline Phoenix Lander with some design improvements, this mission will target the lunar South Pole-Aitken Basin area, delivering 6-8 NASA payloads and a few of Orion Technologies’ exploration vehicles. While room onboards the lander is scarce now, room aboard the rocket was not. After we nearly overshot the Moon on OT-1, we realized that Eagle 5 had a little extra payload capacity when carrying the Phoenix Lander to the Moon. This means that a small payload will be allowed to fly as a rideshare aboard Phoenix OT-2. The payload will be inserted separately from Phoenix into a PLLO(Polar Low Lunar Orbit) via a Shooting Star Kick Stage. Shooting Star and its payload will be housed in a titanium canister below Phoenix for launch, deploying after the lander does so. Orbital requirements and adjustments are up to the customer. We will allow one(1) customer to launch 1-4 different payloads on Shooting Star. Requirements are as follows:

Wet mass of single payload must be <700kg

Collective wet mass of dual, triple, or quadruple payload must be <600kg

Dimensions of single payload for launch must be no larger than 1m tall x 1.3m wide x 1.3m deep

Must be original, manufactured specifically for this lunar mission

Must be built, tested, and submitted(all by customer) by June 2, 2025

Any questions one may have regarding this rideshare opportunity can be answered in the comments below. Enjoy!

@HermesAerospace, assuming a similar size and weight to the previous AstroLink, potentially could send 4 to the Moon.

@HermesAerospace, does it fit under the requirements? If so, we would love to send your satellite to the Moon!
