The Long March-1 carrier rocket is the first domestically produced space rocket developed by the People's Republic of China, aiming to launch China's first artificial Earth satellite, Dongfang Hong-1.
The Long March 1 is a three-stage rocket. The first and second stages of the rocket use the second-stage modified DF-3 medium-range ballistic missile, and the third stage uses the newly entered production GF-02 solid rocket engine.
Development of the Long March 1 began in 1965. On April 24, 1970, the Long March 1 launched China's first artificial Earth satellite, Dongfanghong-1. Make China into the ranks of the world's space powers.
