An autopilot-autothruttle system for longitudinally statically stable airliner, with the following modes:
- VS mode: Hold the vertical speed at designated value;
- ALT mode: Climb or descent to designated altitude (ASL) at designated vertical speed;
- HDG mode: Turn to and hold the designated heading;
- AS mode: Auto-control the throttle to hold a designated airspeed;
- VOR/LOC mode: Track a VOR course or track the LOC course during auto landing. You can arm this mode in HDG mode or during manual flight. The autopilot will be activated and automatically intercept and track the course when the horizontal distance between the aircraft and the course is lower than 4 km. Once this mode is activated, HDG mode will be deactivated.
- GS mode: Track the glide slope during auto-landing. You can arm this mode in other vertical mode including VS mode and ALT mode. When the LOC course is intercepted, this mode is activate and take control of elevator. Once this mode is activated, VS and ALT will be deactivated.
You can enter target vertical speed, altitude, airspeed and heading by clicking on "MCP input" bottom.
Click on the "Enter VOR/ILS Info" bottom to enter the cordinate of the VOR or the cordinate the Touchdown Area if you'd like to auto-land, the course heading or runway heading, and the Glide Slope Angle. Here a set of default parameters is provided for DSC Esternward Runway, with the Glide Slope Angle of 3 degrees.
You can click on "Disconnect AP" bottom to deactivate all autopilot an auto throttle mode at once.
The demostrated aircraft is equiped with a pair of flaps controlled by SLIDER1. If the airspeed is lower than 140m/s, you are recommanded to extend the flaps as required.
Have a good flight!
