Historical Significance

Maiden flight on Nov 3, 2016, positioned China among global heavy-lift launch leaders. Its modular design underpins CZ-5B (space station missions) and lunar exploration programs. The May 5, 2020 test flight validated manned lunar landing technologies.

Recent Developments

As of October 2025, CZ-5 series achieved 12 consecutive successful launches. The July 2025 Chang'e-6 mission accomplished the first-ever lunar far side sample return.
