The Sword Class Armored Frigate was the first of its type, an attempt to combine Speed and Survivability. due to said reason, It is the first ship of its size to feature the iconic Bright White Composite Armor, having a thickness of 0.5 Meters. This protected It from the shells of Light Coilguns, a threat that has become increasingly common as ships engage in closer ranges.
For its weapon systems, the ship class is fitted with 8 Light Coilguns, 4 Chaser Missile Pods, and a single Spinal Coilgun. While formidable though, they merely added headaches for the crew, taking up valuable living space and being a nuisance to maintain. This problem was later fixed by its successor, the Juniper Class Patrol Corvette, which boast limited weapons for its size.
