Craft changes
- Completely updated and rewritten program;
- Fixed an issue that caused air defense to not hit fast and maneuvering targets;
- The remodeled guns now fire more realistically. Also fixed the problem of the cannon parts taking damage by the cannons themselves;
- Craft design has been updated.
Description
It's a Cannon Air Defense System that destroys aerial targets within a radius of up to 10 kilometers. This air defense system has more functionality than the Laser Air Defense System.
The target must have a mass of more than 5 kg and consist of 10 or more parts (these parameters can be changed in the program).
This air defense is designed to destroy large airborne non-maneuverable targets at long range. It isn't effective against small targets flying at high speed at very low altitude.
How to use
Place the craft in the desired location and activate AG1.
Activate AG2 to make the air defense focus on a specific target, even if it isn't the closest one (optional).
Activate AG3 to change the minimum and maximum range of the air defense.

@IcEStaR : Thanks for clarifying! I didn't and don't want to change the parts, but I was concerned that appending this to a vehicle to deploy this changed the part numbers. I could find 1451 and I named it and that worked, but I could not find 1452 and I am concerned that it moved. I'll need to figure out how to just launch these and 'translate' them to where I want to place them. At the moment, I am just moving one to the edge of the runway at the DSC. Thanks much for your help and for putting this together!

@Rubenio The program of this craft is not universal as it has its own features (in particular geometric ones) that don't allow it to be used on other crafts without reworking some points in the code.
Parts 1451 and 1452 are important because they create a Line of Sight (LoS) Vector (the direction in which the craft is aimed – Azimuth-Elevation Vector), and the distance between them is not very important. Keep in mind that these parts are in a specific place - moving them can make the craft behave incorrectly!P.S The essence of the program is to turn the craft in the right direction - horizontally and vertically, the direction of the "view" of the craft is determined by parts 1451 and 1452. Since 4 guns are located slightly away from this vector, the craft turns them at certain angles - vertically and horizontally. The location (coordinates) of many parts are important and if they are changed, the craft will stop hitting the target.

@IcEStaR , I think I figured out what is going on. I think the part numbers have changed. it might be best to name the parts 1451 and 1452 - I found 1452 which is near the base. Can you tell me what the distance between 1451 & 1452 are supposed to be? I have target tracking, but it doesn't seem to shoot correctly. though it does shoot! :-)

@Rubenio Hmm, I have no ideas. However, if you can share a fragment of gameplay, perhaps it will be possible to determine the cause of the problem and fix it. Try reloading the craft and recording a short video (you can upload it to YouTube with access via a link).
P.S. Unfortunately, I am quite busy at this time, but I hope it will be possible to solve your problem -

@IcEStaR , thanks for getting back to me. the plane I'm flying over it meets the criteria. the 'antenna' is spinning on the cannons, but i've not been able to make it shoot. is there anything i can do to troubleshoot?

@Rubenio Hi, thanks! I just checked it and it works, so I can only guess that it is in the parameters of the target - it must weigh more than 5 kg and consist of 10 or more parts (these parameters can be changed in the program). Also the target must be from 10 to 10000 m (by default) from the craft.
If the craft doesn't work in this case, then I do not know at all.. -

Hi! This looks awesome! I've deployed one near the DSC runway. However, I can't get it to shoot at anything, regardless of using AG1 or AG2. I've tried career mode and sandbox and in both cases, i can fly a slow plane overhead with no targeting.. please help as this looks really cool

I actually managed to blow it off the map with a KA-27 fighter (search it its cool) on my first pass It went for the flares and only managed to shoot out my engines. I used my remaining airspeed to turn around and put as many missiles in the air as I could and one managed to find its target

Brilliant, I've increased the rate to 2500 rounds per minute and added extra guns, put them all over the place (including satellites) can't launch anything from any where! I love it!

@marwans You can also customize the direct damage of the cannons in the hidden properties of the rocket engines (details named Gun 1 – Gun 4). I tried to make this more versatile, but some targets take too long to destroy and others take too fast, so it's important to keep the damage balanced

@Madrat Wow, thanks! I was afraid that due to the imperfection of the aiming algorithm the craft wouldn't be able to keep up with the target, and if the target is flying at low altitude (about a meter), the air defense won't notice it at all.

This thing it amazing. The description says it is not effective against small maneuvering or small fast targets but it shot down a small craft going mach 3 in a turn multiple times
