Orion OA BA-42 “Το ματωμένο δόρυ του Σατανά” (“Satan’s Bloody Spear”)
In the year 2330AD, amidst escalating planetary conflicts, Orion AeroWorks introduced the OA BA-42 — a medium-range bomber whose very design philosophy revolved around invisible death from above. Handed down years later to an allied nation, it became an enduring symbol of high-altitude precision warfare.
Flying at 60,000 feet, the BA-42 rarely revealed its presence. Its advanced autopilot targeting system automatically aligned the aircraft to ensure rocket trajectories intersected perfectly with ground targets. At such heights, the attack was as sudden as it was silent — the BA-42’s unguided ground-attack rockets traveled with only a faint hiss, producing almost no visible smoke trail. By the time the first impact was felt, the aircraft was already repositioning for its next strike.
The bomber carried five heavy long-range rockets, each armored to withstand defensive fire, and backed by four concealed wing-root 50 calibre guns. The guns, delivering a staggering 72 rounds per second each, were deadly in close engagements but rarely needed — the BA-42 preferred to destroy before it was even detected.
It had the ability to fire 288 50.cal rounds every second. And it only had an ammo tank for 864 rounds. Making it only be able to fire for 3 seconds. But the pilot could control how many guns fired at once.
Its powerful airframe could cruise indefinitely at 60k ft on 30% throttle, saving fuel for tactical bursts to its 620 m/s top speed. On full throttle, it had just 24 minutes of fuel, but in the hands of a skilled pilot, this was more than enough for a mission deep into hostile airspace.
Nicknamed “Satan’s Bloody Spear”, it was feared not for noise or spectacle, but for the absence of both — the last thing its targets experienced was… nothing at all.
