Auto Credit Based on Pedro's 30 AGs and 50 colors chip

Description:

This is a scale replica of the Star Wars SnowSpeeder from The Empire Strikes Back. If you like this, also check out my Lego Benny's Spaceship

Features:
  • There is a LEGO minifigure pilot now! If you'd rather have an astronaut, just add a seat where the minifigure currently sits
  • Activation Groups for hover, forward/reverse thrust, cockpit open/close, interior and exterior lighting, and dash cam engine rotation
  • Primarily an in-atmosphere speeder, but has enough thrust and fuel to escape (just disable hover after you gain speed to escape)
  • Functional dash (rudimentary, but true to the Lego piece) that has switches for major functions (hover, cockpit), and a hover height gauge
  • All Lego pieces are accurately replicated, including all studs and attachment points; this results in a high part count but it runs very stable even on high settings on my iPhone

Instructions:
  • Here is a short video showing the operation of the craft. Whatever you do, don't turn off autopilot if you're hovering!

Disclaimers:
  • I have used tinker panel mainly to improve physics (disabling drag and collisions on all of the exterior studs) and get the CoM just right without messing with the Lego structure
  • To make this a functional craft I had to include a Methalox reservoir using size and mass scaling.
  • Don't open the cockpit while you're flying! Results may be unfortunate

This is so amazing! Lego has been such a huge part of my life, and this brings all the joy from that world into this build. Very good job on this!

@CodeCaptian I completely agree, but technically LEGO Worlds is out, and that’s a digital LEGO sandbox.

Thanks @CodeCaptain for the suggestion and feedback. Let me think on that and how I would structure the vids. I also want to get a few more crafts under my belt and test some of the limits of the software.

@Zyvx thanks! I make each part individually, then save them as subs to make assembly easier later. When you open the model in designer mode, try detaching any single piece and you'll see that I've customized the component to snap automatically to the other pieces. There are a few exceptions but almost every piece is accurately replicated and scaled. It makes the part count HUGE compared with the relative simplicity of the craft, which is kind of annoying but inevitable.

You make these so Lego accurately it's like the game turned into Lego Rockets 2. Definitely awesome details and fun to fly. I must ask, do you make the real life Lego counterparts as models when you make the SR2 creations. They just look that accurate lol.

@Gozinya yeah that would make sense. Haha I don’t even know what made me try to open the cockpit in hover mode

    @gamerhater probably changed CoM. lol

@gamerhater haha, I'll add that to the disclaimers. It probably throws off the CoM and makes hovering tough.

@Gozinya Just a heads up that in hover mode (ag 1activated) if you try to open the cockpit, the ship freaks out and starts flipping backwards into the ground. I don’t know why I tried to do this but I did xD
