A little project I started to try out retractable gear, and was able to return to when the joints were improved. The wheels are still a littly wobbly but it's ok if you land it gently. It's pretty fast, has the range to get to the coast and back easily, and a cool cargo ramp for loading and unloading.

It also has working retractable gear and airbrakes.

I suggest if you want to load a car or something, put in docking ports to hold it in place (maybe retracting with a piston)

Controls:

Stage

to start up.

The pitch

may be inverted to you as I remapped my controls. Invert both elevators (they aren't symmetry linked).

Throttle

for the powerplant, which is modded ion engines. They will not work in space.

Gear

Slider 1 UP to retract, then AG1 for doors
Reverse to extend

Cargo Bay

AG2 to open rear, then Slider 2 DOWN to lower ramp.

Can you make a variant of this ion engine that works in vacuum? I’ve made some rockets with ion engines with 1000kn of thrust or more. I just need a less powerful version with 50kn of thrust. I’m on mobile is you’re wondering.

@WNP78 I don't think the Tinker Panel will ever fully support all available XML attributes, so I think Overload still absolutely has a place.

@AndrewGarrison are you planning on doing tinker tool fully to "XML mod" everything, or is it still worth me finishing overload?

Oh ok I’ll try that @WNP78

@Chancey21 by a reasonably realistic amount. And that's only while it's accelerating, once up to speed the torque would not be due to that but due to the drag the prop blades provide.

because it would roll the opposite way; Newton's third law @WNP78

@Chancey21 why would diffuseInertiaTensors be required for that?

so it would be impossible to make a rotator driven prop unless it was a twin?@WNP78

@Chancey21 I presume infinite rotators will work but haven't tried. Diffuse inertia tensors is not a thing but the stability modifiers are kinda similar I guess.

Is it possible to make infinite rotators in SR2? and if so, is defuseInertaTensors a thing?
