The HL-2A (Heavy Lift Two, Alpha Variant) is a heavy lift launch vehicle capable of bringing in excess of 80 tons to LDO. It has 3 stages fueled with RP-1 and 4 solid rocket boosters to increase it's maximum payload capacity. The Alpha Variant is equipped with the Mk 1 ISS AutoLaunch program, which can automatically launch a payload to a desired altitude (no inclination control).
The HL-2A 1st stage is comprised of 4, Mk 1 Winston Engines. The 2nd stage is comprised of 2 Mk 1 Greene Engines. The 3rd stage is comprised of a single Mk 2 Greene Engine (Vacume Optimized).
Future Variants of the HL-2A will include a more advanced auto launch program as well as performance upgrades to the SRBs.
