@Aludra877 so here I am. Airspeed is a company that was started in 1914. the cofounder of the company wanted to make crafts like the one from the wright brothers, but allways better, newer and moderner. They should not have been like „far range gliders with engines“, but real planes that you can fly around with, up, down, left, right, maybe make a roll. That time the company was still called „MotorGliders and co.“, but soonly after the first aircraft, the motorglider type 1 was made, the company was sold due to its succes of the project and renamed as AirSpeed. They then focused on military aircraft mainly. The AS-Combat-Assault-1924 was made. A biplane made out of light metals instead out of wood. The secret how they made the engine powerful enough to make it fly was never revealed. The next aircraft was the AS-CA-B-1923, wich was already planned in 1923 but first made in 1926. it’s already uploaded and you can read its Bio to find out more about its story. However, from that on, AIRSPEED released an entire series of mor modern getting fighterplanes. The last one was the combat assault 7, with a really powerful turboprop engine. But the. They ran out of ideas how to make even better planes, and also they lost their chain of successful projects as the Germans released their new superheating in WW2: Jet engines. When the USA finally received the jet Technology after the end of the war, they thought, if they give this to airspeed they will make another superweapon again for them, and so did. But the result, the AS-F-01, was really a loss of money. The aircraft had a less powerful type-AS-031 engine wich was barely able to get the aircraft off the ground. (I will upload these story aircraft’s too tomorrow if I can). It needed long to get enough lift force, wich often caused them to break when doing high G force maneuvers. But airspeed didn’t give up, and after 10 years of research, engineering and having problems, they released the AS-F-10b. (F-10a was only a test prototype). The 10b was equipped with a powerful type-057 jet engine, wich caused it to break records by reaching enormous speeds. Also they made the first ever afterburner, even though it was only a very strong and fuel sucking integrated rocket engine wich used jet fuel. From that on, Airspeed TOTALLY and COMPLETELY started to only focus on making JET aircraft for military use. From that one they had a lot of success and made many of the most successful jets that the USA ever had. The latest jet
