The Process: Turning Flares into Nuclear Energy
​The transition from solar energy to nuclear energy happens through a process called Low-Energy Nuclear Transmutation (LENT) or High-Flux Proton Capture:
​Proton Bombardment: The captured solar flare particles are accelerated into a fuel target (likely Thorium or Lithium-6) inside the R.E.X’s reactor.
​Induced Fission/Fusion: The sheer velocity and volume of the solar flare particles provide the external "trigger" needed to start a nuclear reaction. The flare acts as the "match" that lights the nuclear "fire."
​The "Nuclear" Result: The solar flare forces the atoms in the fuel to split (fission) or fuse, releasing a billion times more energy than a standard battery could hold.
