Auto Credit Based on Mostly's [STEAM KEY PRIZES] Airlift Challenge 2023

Airlift challenge submission

Note: Use slider 2 when taxiing, it drives the front wheel and will allow you to turn on the spot

The AAC platform was made due to the need for a plane that could land in adverse Arctic and Antarctic weather conditions without risking the lives of pilots.

Features:
Interior cargo bay with detailing (Door switch light changes with the AG)
Moving camera
Details I guess
Realistic and stable flight performance
Tight ground turn circle
Wing folding for extra storage space
Long flight range

Flying:
This is a 95 ton plane with a Com well in front of the Col as to keep it stable when cargo is loaded. It is a sluggish craft due to that, and the nature of its wing design making it incredibly stable: It will naturally point the nose down before it could even have a chance of stalling and entering a flat spin position.

Takeoff: Takes off at about 130ish m/s. It doesn’t really rotate then lift, just does both slowly at the same time.

Cruise: While autopilot kinda works, I highly recommend just using the pitch slider and setting it somewhere between 40-60%, the craft will climb but will then lose some altitude and generally stay around the same altitude. Usual cruise altitude is around 10,000m, although it really depends on what you set the pitch to. (I don’t recommend setting pitch using autopilot simply out of the fact that it will literally just climb forever at that point. I let it fly for awhile and got it to 18,000m+ before I stopped it).

Landing: Keep speed just above 125m/s. Recommend getting on the proper heading for the runway/landing spot a bit before you start slowing down for approach. The craft really doesn’t stall or have any AoA, so you will need the point the nose down to lose altitude. Throttle should be around 15-30%, you can also set throttle to max and just set brake to max to help slow yourself, useful during decent. For landing, I recommend just cutting throttle and gently nosing down so you somewhat slowly decend. Max brake and throttle on touchdown.

Ag:
All labeled :)

Should be about it, any bugs or questions ask and I’ll answer.
Also, USE THE DOCKING PORTS FOR CARGO. LOOSE CARGO CAN EXPLODE OR SHIFT COM TOO FAR BACK.

Have fun flying!

It’s pretty well built, flies well. The camera movement is a fun feature. There isn’t a single other submission with this sort of design idea @Jerba

@Mostly yea that’s my bad, I had started this project before the challenge even began and just made it a sub assembly to use for the challenge, guess I forgot I messed with the engines because I couldn’t get the performance needed. Sorry about that! Also if you did end up flying it anyways, what did you think of it?

@Jerba Yes. Every part is checked to ensure the submission has followed the rules of the challenge.

@Mostly ??? Where? I checked all the parts I could have used it on and reset them. If I fix them would you judge it or is it too late?

Due to the use of prohibited XML edits, this submission has been disqualified. (used mass scaling, used size scaling on parts that weren't labels)

@TritonAerospace Still working on it with details and such, I’ll tag you when I release it
