The North American F-82 Twin Mustang was a unique, long-range propeller-driven fighter aircraft developed from two P-51 Mustang fuselages, designed to escort B-29 bombers during World War II and serving the early Korean War. It was the last propeller-driven fighter adopted by the U.S. Air Force. Though its service was brief due to the advent of jets, it performed notably in the Korean War, credited with the first aerial victory of the conflict.
