Auto Credit Based on TritonAerospace's F-4C Cyber

Part of a series on TritonAerospace's lore.

Lore, tactics, use cases, missile specifications and systems information are listed here! A proper user's guide is coming soon™.

A number of goodies building on TritonAerospace's older F-4C

Changelog

  • fuel returned back to full volume
  • new missiles: Triton's AAM-10 (1-15km range with thrust vectoring) and my AAM-35C "Spearhead" (5-170km range)
  • updated fire control system: now has fuel tanks option (these will be added later), as well as full anti-surface missile capability
  • updated EOTS gives more zoom and camera auto centers now
  • 29 flares/jamming pods (cosmetic only at the moment, however it is planned to bring them to full functionality)
  • AN/ALR-02 Cyber Layered Approach Warning System (CLAWS) RWR, will beep 800hz at you if it detects an incoming missile
  • reactivated the elevons to help with high altitude performance
  • new generator between the engines provides power so you don't run out of battery mid-flight
  • And probably some other things I can't remember

Lore

With the current in-service F-4Cs and their weapons starting to show their age, Droo Space Center needed a new stealth air superiority fighter to fit the mid-long Rangeband. However, with Triton Aerospace putting the F-4 project on hiatus, there weren't any clear options for a replacement.
DSC's Parliament didn't like this one bit, and in parliament fashion, began beating into Military Upper Command for it, despite knowing it wasn't exactly their fault.
Miguel Felix, a right-winged MP, stated "[Upper Command] need[s] to have a full weapons plan if we're going to defend against Ali Base attacks. Any holes could be exploited at any moment."
Ali has been upping their air fighting skills with the upcoming Wasp 3.1, and DSC couldn't take the risks of fighting an uphill battle. they needed a new system, or an upgrade. and they needed it yesterday.
As Jada "Sky", a pilot from the 14th Fighter-Reconnaissance Squadron put it, "It's a great platform, but it's time is running out. We either need a new platform, or an updated version of our current one."
Enter Rokugou Systems, a new contractor from Juno Village, who took it upon themselves to rework the F-4C into the Block 2 Mid-Life Upgrade until a new replacement can be sorted out. not long enough to extend it into the far future, just long enough until Triton Aerospace or another contrator can fill the gap.
Along with that, they develop the AAM-35A "Spearhead" mid-long range Air-To-Air missile. However, during a scandal resulting in the leaks of the blueprints to Ali Base contractors, Parliament, again, beat the life out of Rokugou Systems, Triton Aerospace and Upper Command for the lack of security. This led to the formation of the Internal Security Division, a break off division of DSC's Security Division (this will be expanded on in a future storyline input). Rokugou Systems also quickly updated the AAM-35A into the AAM-35C, with better heat resistance and more powerful motor. This became the F-4Cs new primary weapon.

Tactics and Doctrine

The F-4C should NOT be used for its maneuverability, that isn't it's strongest field. It should be used at high altitudes (12-20km), far away from the front lines (90km or more), and using the powerful engines to cruise between Mach 0.8 and 1.3. Once you have a target designated under 200km, turn towards them, launch your missile, then turn away. Let your missile do the rest of the heavy lifting.
The biggest weak spot in the F-4C is high altitude targets, in which the AAM-35 struggles. Do your best to avoid getting too close to these targets.
In the event you get into a close fight, use your AAM-10s to neutralize a threat. Don't worry about minimum range, the AAM-10 can turn up to 135°/s while burning.
In the event you are fired upon (SAM or otherwise), dive down towards the surface in full afterburner. Be careful not to hit the ground. If the missile hadn't been lead into the ground yet, defend AWAY from it, making hard turns until CLAWS stops beeping. Then recommit vertically to avoid flying straight into the missiles path.
Your loiter time is 35 minutes on internal fuel before you run out and need to return to base. Use this time to support your team as much as possible.

Use Cases

You are an air superiority fighter. You are not a bomber, you are not a close air support aircraft. You are an air superiority fighter. the F-4C Block 2 should be used as such. Do not attempt to stretch into any roles other than Recon.
As Raya "Adele" from 14th FRS puts it, "it's very niche... But it's our niche, and we're damn good at it. I've saved countless people from hairy situations... Enemies on their tail, heavy fire from multiple aircraft, hell even pointing out where SAM or SPAA fire is coming from. But, other than Armed Recon and Air Superiority, it isn't really capable of much."

Missile Specifications

AAM-35C "Spearhead" (Rokugou Systems)

The AAM-35C is a motor-upgrade version of the AAM-35A, providing higher delta-V over all altitude bands. It should be used in the same fashion as the AAM-35A, between 5km and 190km. This is the same Rangeband as the AIM-120D.
Do note that the AAM-35 is a very draggy missile, its best user when launched above 6km to avoid air resistance. It caps out at Mach 5.5 when launched from 15km at Mach 1, and Mach 3.5 when launched at sea level. Range is very dependant on launch parameters. While the AAM-35 has pulled up to 70°/s in testing, it pulls 40°/s in most situations. It can be used in dogfight situations, however it isn't exactly recommended considering it's sensitive failsafe fuse might prematurely detonate it.

AAM-10 (Triton Aerospace)

The AAM-10 is your go-to missile within 15km range for any threat. Cruise missiles at low altitude? Check. Bombers at high altitude? Check. An enemy fighter on your tail? Check. The AAM-10 pulls 135°/s while burning, and it has an extremely high probability of hit. This should be used in a defensive position only, however, as you only get two internally. Like the AAM-35, it's a very draggey missile, however this doesnt matter as it's not intended to be used beyond 15km in range.

Systems Information:

The new flare ECM pods are intended to work soon, however it has not been implemented yet (it requires an update to all missiles in the network). They can be found in the silver strips, between the engines and behind the AAM-10 weapon bays. You only get 29, however, so use them sparingly.
EOTS can be controlled by targeting a craft or structure, then enabling the labeled EOTS activation group. You can then switch to the auto-slaved cameras and look at your target. Zoom can be adjusted with slider 1.

That's most of the new stuff. Everything else important can be found in the original F-4C weapons page.

Happy Hunting, Squad!

@SpaceInvader0826 not a J-20. F-4C "Cyber" Block 2 Mid-Life Upgrade. Note how the F-4C has elevons unlike the J-20. Note how the weapon's loadout is completely different. Note how there is a full blown lore section. This is not. A J-20.
