Instead it has a VTOL-ish engine underneath. It's enabled (AG 2) and you can lift off immediately. Switch to inline with AG 1.
How I use it: The craft is unstable/highly maneuverable so I lock my heading and do something akin to fly-by-wire. My favorite way to do this is to lock prograde (forward green arrow) and then I mostly use pitch up, down, yaw left, right and sometimes roll. It makes it much nicer to fly, but limits you to smaller turning angles. You can do this at 4x time as well. E.g. Lock prograde, hold yaw and it will turn for you.*
Full strength brake will also make it more unstable at low speeds; but full strength is great for slowing down at high speeds.
