it doesn't require mod, and if you drop it from deep space into a planet that has atmosphere, it will not consider the atmosphere drag and will start the burn high enough to stop but the drag is helping the deceleration, so the engines will cut down a nd the whole script goes nonsense from there

This makes the lateral speed zero at an altitude of 10,000 meters and continues burning. run out of fuel and crash.😭

    Does this need mod?

yes it used to switch from retro to 90 pitch but at some point while working on the program i must have miss-located a command off a loop or something and the behavior was awesome so i adopted this new method. I tried to mess with fool factor but nothing worked better than 1.2 , if you're falling fast to the moon, the effect of FF higher than 1.2 will be huge that the craft will almost stop way high and on lower landing speeds, FF less than 1.2 may not be sufficient. but of course there's other variables like the t2 which can be derived automatically or exaggerated , exaggeration will make the burn start early and solve many problems

the fool factor works great for adjusting the approach angle - tried it on the experimental craft from earlier also - the retrograde lock working until 0 velocity now definitely helps ..didnt it used to switch off when it went below 10 m/s(an update or 2 ago)?
