Long March-1 (code name: CZ-1) is a type I three-stage carrier rocket developed by China in the early 1970s. It was developed for launching China's first man-made earth satellite.

The first and second stages of the Long March 1 are powered by liquid fuel engines, while the third stage is powered by solid fuel engines. The rocket was launched in 1965; It was first launched on April 24, 1970, successfully sending Dongfanghong 1 into orbit. On March 3, 1971, the second launch successfully put the Shijian-1 scientific test satellite into orbit.

As China's first generation of the first type of carrier rocket, the Long March 1 opened the prelude of China's entry into space, making China the fifth space power in the world to develop and launch its own satellites.
