After it was found that the F-35 could not fully replicate the A-10’s capabilities, a stopgap solution was needed. It was to be able to fly at mach 2 or higher, use the F-119HT engine, an upgraded version of the F-119 turbofan which was made for the Advanced Tactical Fighter Program. The aircraft that NEO produced was larger and heavier than it’s competitors, but due to its high thrust to weight ratio, it was the fastest, had the highest sustained turn rate, and the engine nacelles covered most of the IR radiation generated from the afterburner. It also included first generation IR dazzlers which combined with its stealthy design, made it invisible to most air defense.
PERFORMANCE
High thrust to weight ratio gives it excellent turn rate. It can complete three cobra’s in quick succession and also has great roll and yaw control. It has a naturally stable design in all three axises and in all my testing, I have yet to put it into a death spiral. It can accelerate to about Mach 2.5 with empty hard points and 50% fuel. Can carry a bomb load upwards of 100,000 pounds but comes with two 13,000 lb glide bombs in this configuration.
NOTES
Turn off vapor trails before launch
Thanks for checking out my build and have a nice flight!
Thanks!
