The GSLVs are India's most powerful rockets to date. This version, the GSLV MK-III is successfully tested to take 6.6 ton payload to geostationary orbit around Droo.

The 1st stage has two main solid boosters, with additional two smaller liquid fuel engines on the sides to provide stability. So keep the throttle at around 60% when the 1st stage is active for those smaller engines to work. Doing gravity turns in this stage is not recommended as the rocket may spin out of control.

The other two stages are all liquid engines so one can perform gravity turns in those stages. I have tried it many times and even after achieving geostationary orbit, you will have a lot of fuel left.
