The standard Infantry Assault Cruiser is based on an elongated Midway Cruiser design, with the addition of 24 docking hardpoints located radially amidships. These docking hardpoints can carry landing pods, each of which contain a full squad of Drootian Marines, and their equipment. Each pod carries a heat shield, and enough propellant to brake from 3000 m/s. Once deployed, the Infantry Assault Cruiser (IAC) can resume offensive action as a cruiser, or return to base to attach more assault pods.
When not used in an assault role, the IAC can be used to haul large quantities of cargo on its hardpoints, or a variety of other roles.
