@CommerceEngineer for "feared" I'd substitute that for "Intimidated" intimidated is also a word for scared, mainly at something in particular. For example
He was intimidated by the shear size of the Polar bear standing on its 2 hind legs.Remove the "yet" on the 2nd paragraph
Add comma after "history" in 2nd paragraph
Also use "then" instead of "than" by the 1st sentence
