A remake of one of my classic Simpleplanes aircraft. The Barracuda was a carrier based multirole aircraft with good low speed flight performance, and I relied on it for general purpose use a very long time ago when I played Simpleplanes. I tried my best to translate as many of it's design aspects to a new airframe with more detail and better proportions as possible, however I did end up accidentally making the aircraft far too large, and only noticed after I was finished with it. I'll fix that when I remake the Barracuda in SP2. Oh, and speaking of SP2, working on this aircraft has given me the idea that I should remake my best aircraft from SP1 in SP2, because child me definitely had a lot more perspiration than adult me, and seeing how much of an improvement I can make on those old designs makes me really excited.

This version of the Barracuda is a Rocket Assisted Takeoff and Landing jet. I added some retrograde rockets to the airframe in order to emulate the "featherlight landing sequence" child me installed on all my carrier based aircraft in SP1, which was just a modded disconnector that imparted enough force to completely stop the aircraft when it hits the carrier deck. I was able to impart that force in this game with rockets instead. There are only rockets installed for landing right now, but you can just copy the pods and reverse them to make a takeoff stage; The effect of the pods taking you from flying to stationary is mostly reversible. (Use the activate stage button to fire the retro rockets while right about to touch the ground at ~120m/s to come to a complete stop.)
