This work is a 1:1 scale replica of Lightning McQueen from Pixar’s animated film Cars 1.
The suspension adopts the structure designed by Pixar, and the livery is the one from the first film (the liveries in the first and third films are different).
When I was 9, I watched Cars 1 on TV. I was deeply attracted by its realistic rendering style, strong American Western culture and sporting spirit.
(It is the world’s first animated film to extensively use ray tracing for rendering.)
The thrilling races in the movie also introduced me to racing culture and NASCAR for the first time.
This film and the character Lightning McQueen were my racing enlightenment—they accompanied my entire childhood and still influence me today.
That’s why I recreated Lightning McQueen in the game to commemorate my childhood.
I have watched Cars 1 at least 10 times, and it still amazes me every single time.
Both its story theme and visual art are simply perfect.
Undoubtedly, Cars 1 is one of the most classic racing films ever made.
Controls
1. Enable joystick mode
2. Slide the left joystick (Yaw) left/right to steer
3. Slide the right joystick (Pitch) up/down to move forward and backward
4. Slide the left joystick down (Brake) to brake
Notes
1. It has an extremely low chassis, so its off-road capability is very poor.
2. According to my tests, when the terrain setting is set to High, the suspension will bounce on flat roads, probably due to the game’s terrain simulation. It is recommended to turn off physical damage when playing.
