Auto Credit Based on goz's Lego Starter Chip w 50 Color Pallette

Description:

This is a scale replica of the spaceship from the Lego set Emmet and Benny's 'Build and Fix' Workshop. It was so much fun to build and I hope you have as much fun cruising in it!

Features:
  • Activation Groups for engine rotation (to fit a little rover in the back), quick camera angles (dash cam and engine bay), interior and running lights, and RCS
  • Methalox engines with just enough thrust to escape Droo atmosphere
  • Functional dash (rudimentary, but true to the Lego piece) that shows altitude within atmosphere and thrust input
  • All Lego pieces are accurately replicated, including all studs and attachment points; this results in a high part count but it runs very stable even on high settings on my iPhone

Instructions:
  • Pretty self-explanatory, but please post if you have issues with the craft

Disclaimers:
  • I know this makes me a lesser builder, but I have used tinker panel mainly to improve physics (disabling drag and collisions on all of the exterior studs) and get the CoM just right without messing with the Lego structure
  • Again, I know this is technically cheating, but to make this a functional craft I had to include a Methalox reservoir using size and mass scaling. Otherwise this thing would burn for about 3 seconds... :D
  • The only other area where I tweaked was to include 'embedded ghost' RCS to preserve the look and feel of the craft but also provide usability in space.

@Zyvx thanks!! Same for me. The sets they have now are so complex compared with what I put together as a child.

Awesome job, really fun and captures the Lego look accurately. Legos are truly the best toys ever, I played with them in the early 80s, and if they were in front of me today, I would still love to build something with them.

@Daenerys thank you so much! A mod would have helped... I am getting carpal tunnel designing each part on my iPhone.

This is AWESOME (whether you used tinkerpanel or not; that's expected with fictional or sci fi craft lol) it looks so real like someone made a Lego mod or something 😂

@Gozinya I like to build small replica’s with lego, but I don’t play with them anymore. But I remember Benny as a set :)

@Doublehsh that’s exactly why I started this project! I played with legos obsessively as a child, and now my children are getting to the age where all they want for birthday presents are legos. I’m really happy you enjoy the craft, and look forward to MANY more to come.

@CodeCaptain Thanks for the compliment, glad you like it! The first thing I did with it was pilot it out of the atmosphere fully in dash cam.

To copy parts, first disconnect the desired part group using the disconnect thingy (sorry don't know the tool name, looks like two parts with a double arrow between). It feels weird to do that because usually it just disconnects a single part, but in this case it should pull the whole subassembly away. Then to copy the sub, use the 'triple copy' (again, sorry... looks like three squares). If you want to make modifications to an individual part, ungroup it first, then do anything you need.

I'm thinking maybe I should make a short video... will work on that on the side.
